Privacy Policy

The short version
Hearful is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts. Speech is generated on your device, so the articles you listen to are not uploaded to us to make audio — we never see your reading list. The data that does leave the app relates to two things: showing ads on the free plan and processing subscriptions.
What stays on your device
Articles you open, your listening history, bookmarks, playlists, settings, and generated audio are stored locally on your phone. Text-to-speech runs on-device. When you paste a link, your device fetches that page directly — the request goes from your phone to that website, not through our servers.
Advertising (free plan)
The free plan shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), coarse ad interaction data, and diagnostics to serve and measure ads. On iOS, personalized ads are only enabled if you allow tracking when asked (App Tracking Transparency); otherwise ads are non-personalized. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. Hearful Premium removes ads entirely, and with them this data collection.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat, our purchase infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-generated identifier and purchase receipt information (product, price, renewal status) so your subscription works and can be restored. We do not receive your name, email, or payment details. RevenueCat's privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
What we don't do
We don't sell personal data. We don't require an account. We don't upload your articles, reading history, bookmarks, or playlists. We don't use third-party analytics beyond what is described above.
Children
Hearful is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
